All-Clad Stainless 8-Quart Stockpot

Deals for All-Clad Stainless 8-Quart Stockpot
==================================================================

5508 Features: -Easy-to-clean 18/10 stainless-steel interior helps prevent foods from sticking and will not react with foods.-Pure aluminum core covers bottom of the pan and extends up the sides for greater heat conductivity.-Signature stay-cool handles are cast from solid stainless-steel and designed for ergonomic comfort.-Suited for all stovetops including electric, gas, ceramic, induction and halogen.-Made in the USA.-Capacity: 8 Quarts.-Oven safe up to 350° F.-Dishwasher safe. • Three-ply: stainless-steel layers sandwich pure aluminum core for even heating
  • Comfortable lid and stay-cool pot handles riveted for strength
  • Dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing recommended
  • Lifetime warranty against defects

This Stockpots give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Even better than the 6 quart!
When purchasing our original All-Clad cookware, we explicitly went for the 6-qt Dutch oven/stockpot, since we are a family of two. While the 6-qt has served us well for several years, I discovered I'd need the slightly greater volume when making some fruit preserves this summer. So I bought the 8-qt.

It's been a joy to own and use. Unlike the 6-qt, whose handles get a mite warm after long stove-top cooking, the 8-qt handles rarely get hot, even after cooking on a gas range for a couple of hours. I don't regret our original purchase decision, but I do like the 8-qt version a bit better than the 6-qt now.

2. A Co-Dependent Relationship
I'm unnaturally dependent on my All Clad 8 quart -- so much so that I bought a second. Soup cooks like a dream in it, and it's great for making stock -- wide enough to brown the chicken and onions before adding the water. Unlike my old cruddy Revereware, you don't get great globs of stuck stuff on the sides that forces you to lose arm muscle scrubbing it off. Cleaning is easy with All Clad-- a must for someone without a dishwasher. Will this addiction ever cease??!!!

All-Clad Stainless 8-Quart Stockpot
Both the 6 and 8 quart stockpots are must haves for your All Clad cookware collection. The 6 is great for sauce, a pound of lasagna or rigatoni, soup or stew and the 8 quart is a must have for my favorite meatballs that I cook in my sauce with sausage and steak. At first I didn't think I would need both but now that I do I can imagine doing all the Italian cooking that I do with out them. I can get my sauce and meatballs cooking in the 8 quart and start boiling lasagna noodles in the 6 quart. I love them both.
These pans are made very well, heat evenly, are very easy to clean and are designed to last. All Clad cookware is one of the most expensive lines around and it is worth every penny, it really is lifetime cookware (backed by a lifetime warranty). This pan is a definite must have. Very, very highly recommended! A+++!...

Lodge CRS15 Pre-Seasoned Carbon Steel Skillet, 15-inch

Deals for Lodge CRS15 Pre-Seasoned Carbon Steel Skillet, 15-inch
==================================================================

This American-based company, Lodge Manufacturing, has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. Now Lodge Manufacturing has added a new line of seasoned carbon steel skillets. Made of 12 gauge carbon steel it is brutally tough and takes high heat for browning and searing. It maintains very low and very high temperatures, making the pan a highly effective and versatile cooking piece. This 15-inch paella-style skillet is constructed of carbon steel so...
  • Foundry seasoned and ready to use
  • Takes high heat well
  • 12 gauge carbon steel
  • Use on all heat sources except microwave ovens
  • Made in the USA

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A welcome addition; great for sautee'ing
This pan is the same design and manufacture of the smaller 8", 10" and 12" Carbon Steel pre-seasoned skillets from Lodge. Formerly only producing cast iron-only cooking utensils, Lodge adds these carbon steel pans which are a hit with professional chefs already and will add to your cookware collection with great benefits.

This 15" pan mimics the Spanish-style Paella pan with the wide cooking surface and sloped, shallow sides, making it easy to sautee meats and vegetables. The two handles make it easy to carry from stove to table for direct serving.

Heat the skillet slowly, add a generous amount of cooking oil (I have started using only light olive oil or EVOO and sometimes with a combination of a pat of butter; Do not use spray...the soy lecithin leaves that nasty, brown gunk-like residue) and enjoy a great pan. Wash with hot water and a brush. Try not to use dish detergent unless absolutely needed and for goodness sakes, keep it out of the dishwasher...

2. Want to keep it but convex center ruins it
I purchased this skillet through Amazon's MyHabit site. I was happy with it taking it out of the box and anxious to use it, but unfortunately mine arrived warped. The center is convex shaped, rising above the outside edges. All oils and liquids run to the edges and pool there, scorching what is in the center. After three attempts to cook various things with it, I've deemed it unusable because it is impossible to heat evenly and, therefore, cook evenly. Maybe I just received a lemon. Too bad.

Can you say grill time?
We grilled veggies on this pan this weekend. Some grill seasoning, fresh herbs, basalmic vinegar, olive oil and voila! This pan sizzled and brought out all their awesome flavors. The pan is large enough for a crowd, or we put enough on for about 4 people and there was plenty of room to spare. Of course, you need good oven mitts to take it off the grill as it will be very hot. I always look for versatility when I buy my kitchenware and this pan meets my standards! I can use it on the grill, in the oven or over a camp fire. Roomie enough for meat and veggies for a one skillet meal. For my oven, the pan is a bit large for one burner, but it could be done--but why cook on the stove when you can use your grill?

  • Triple-ply stainless construction

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Giving All-Clad a Run For Their Money!!
I'm a fan of multiclad cookware, the kind that takes heat conductive aluminum and surrounds it with easy to maintain stainless steel. Professional cooks swear by it, but I'm just a home cook, and didn't even know about until a few years ago while watching America's Test Kitchen. This popular PBS series tests kitchenware, and reports their recommendations via their TV show, as well as 2 different magazines they publish. All-Clad cookware has always ranked up there as the best, but at a high price!

Fortunately for us middle class working stiffs, other cookware manufactures have picked up on the multiclad concept and have been producing their own versions. Enter Cuisinart's MultiClad Pro line.

This particular item takes all the benefits of multiclad and gives us a reasonably priced alternative. Compared to the All Clad Stainless Steel 3-Quart Saute Pan with Lid, which is 1/2 quart smaller and at...

2. So sexy and cooks amazingly!
I spent more hours than I want to admit researching and choosing pots and pans. I ordered several different sets including Cuisinart's Chef's Classic 7-piece set and the MultiClad Pro 7-piece set. I ended up returning both and purchased individual pots. If you purchase Multiclad pots individually, you don't end up paying too much more than a full set would cost, but you can choose the exact pans you want. I purchased a 10" saute pan, 1.5qt sauce pan, and 4qt sauce pan and I use every pan almost every day. If I bought the 7- or 12-piece set, I'd save some money per pan, but many of the pans (8qt stockpot, for example) would sit idle.

I really liked the idea of getting a saute pan because it holds way more food and is more versatile. I can cook for 2-5 people with the same pan, whereas the 10" frying pan that comes with the 7-piece set can barely make enough for 3 people.

It cooks very evenly and like others have said, can be made non-stick with the right...

Pans Don't Get Any Better
MultiClad Pro pans are "da bomb." It really doesn't get much better. Ok, I'll admit the handle rivets are a little hard to wash around sometimes, but I love the strong handles so I will put up with the rivets. Once thing I really love about these pans is the way the lid works with the pan to roll condensed steam back into the pan instead of it rolling down the side of the pan.

Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 8-Inch Nonstick Omelet Pan Le Creuset's tri-ply stainless steel features superior heat conduction, thanks to a full aluminimum core bonded between two layers of professional-grade stainless steel. • Long ergonomic handle with stainless-steel rivets and hanging hole
  • Dishwasher-safe; suitable for induction stovetops; oven-safe to 400 degrees F
  • Measures approximately 8 by 1-3/5 inches; Lifetime Guarantee

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Best non-stick surface!
I fell in love with LeCreuset cast iron pots, so when I wanted to replace my stainless set, I looked into LeCreuset tri-ply. I cook every day, and I have been very very pleased with my tri-ply set. Comfortable handles, easy-pour edges, and of course, even heating from heavy-duty high-quality pots and pans. At the time we bought the new set, we also ordered a non-stick pan because we go through omelet pans every couple years. Most recently, we bought Calphalon non-stick. BUT, the new LeCreuset are far superior to any we've ever had, plus, a 10-year warranty on the non-stick coating is very generous. This surface is the smoothest I've every used. It feels oiled, even when spotlessly clean. After loving our small omelet pan, we bought this larger one for scrambled eggs, sauteed veggies, and grilled sandwiches. We use it almost daily. Although the material says dishwasher safe, I prefer to hand-wash it, and it cleans up with just a wipe with a sponge. We use one or both of our LeCreuset...

2. Absolutely Fantastic
Great product Le Creuset. We own several other sets and this was not disappointing. Perfect weight distribution, beautiful finish and a perfect size for individual omelets.
The item arrived fast, well packaged, undamaged.
I would recommend this item. It isn't cheap but the quality and the fact that it will last for a very long time will make up the difference between this, and a less expensive pan.

Great pan
We have several of the le creuset cast iron pots and pans, but wanted something a bit lighter in weight for cooking eggs every morning - this is perfect.. the non-stick surface is great - the eggs seem to "float" on top of the surface. Highly recommended.

Trudeau 0823004 Electric 11-Piece 3-in-1 Fondue Set

Cheapest Trudeau 0823004 Electric 11-Piece 3-in-1 Fondue Set
==================================================================

The Trudeau electric fondue pot makes the inconvenience of sterno a distant memory! The 11 piece set is a space saver offering the choice of either hot broth or oil based fondue for meat and seafood or just pop in the stoneware bowl for cheese or chocolate fondue. The mirror finish 18/10 stainless steel pot rests on a modular warming base that has a non-stick warming plate with a variable temperature control. The built in light indicates either on or off. The electric fondue also comes equi...
  • Electric fondue pot with warming base and 56-ounce stainless-steel pot
  • Stoneware insert for cheese or chocolate fondue; variable temperature control
  • Pot suitable for stovetop use; 2 loop side handles; fork guide
  • 6 stainless-steel forks included; break-away power cord for safety
  • Measures approximately 9-2/7 by 9 by 9-2/7 inches; 1-year limited warranty

This Fondue give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Best electric fondue pot available: stylish, quality, functional.
The Trudeau electric fondue pot is a triumph of form following function. Being electric it is very convenient to use and arguably safer than "sterno" units. It is versatile and can be used with cheese, meat or dessert fondues. Compared to others presently on the market, it has the distinct advantage of being the only one truly designed for all three types of fondue.

I tested the Rival and the Cuisinart. Both use direct heat technology, which is fine for oil or broth based fondue which require high heat. However, when you cook cheese or dessert you have use a low heat setting. Both units cycle between "on" and "off" at various intervals trying to keep a steady temperature. This creates either rapid boiling or fast cooling. Making a cheese or chocolate fondue with the Rival and Cuisinart is doable, but be prepared to be stirring the pot a lot to prevent scorching the food. The Westinghouse seems to be the same design as the other two, but I have not tried it...

2. excellent all around fondue pot!!
Never thought I really liked Fondue until I went to the Melting Pot for dinner on my birthday. Quite expensive so I decided to try it at home. After much research I picked this pot because of its dual bowl system. You can do cheese, chocolate and broth. This pot kept all of our courses hot enough without scorching. Nicely sized for our family of four. I would buy this pot again if I needed to!

FANTASTIC
This fondue maker is Fantastic. My wife and I make cheese, chocolate and wine-based fondues and, with the included double - boiler, it does not scorch and keeps a good constant temperature. It heats up quickly and provides an excellent dining experience.

  • This 5-piece set comes with a complete 12 month manufacturer's warranty that guarantees the quality and durability of the non-stick coating.

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Very nice pans!
I bought these pans for my sister for Christmas. She liked them very much, so I bought them for myself as well. They are very good pans. The bottom is heavier than I'm used to, so it takes slightly longer for the pan to heat, but once it does, the heat is very well distributed. The nano ceramic coating makes cooking easier in that you need very little, if any, oil. I'm thinking about getting the saucepans as well.

2. Very non-stick, but some design problems
I have been using this set of skillets for 2 months, and so far the non-stick surface is holding up perfectly. I sometimes use oil in the skillets, but have never used cooking spray. I think the red color is attractive. The fruit pattern is a little odd, but I store the skillets in the cabinet so it doesn't matter. The largest skillet is uncomfortably heavy with the lid on, but it is nice that I can mix up a sizable casserole in it easily. My complaints are that the lids don't fit snugly (more steam escapes around the edges than through the vent in the lid), and that the smallest skillet is very poorly balanced. It's handle is the same size as the handles of the larger skillets and is too heavy, making the skillet prone to tipping. Also, the bottoms of the skillets are not flat, but have a pattern that makes it hard to seat them firmly on my old-fashioned electric burners. Despite the problems, I like the skillets better than the Teflon ones they replaced. If the surfaces...

6 months of use and still strong
I was excited to try the ceramic coated fry pans as I had heard you could use metal on them and it wouldn't cause a problem. After 6 months, I find I still use plastic/wood mostly so I cannot say how the coating would hold up under heavy metal utensil use.

One problem I have seen with the coating is along the rims, where they rub against each other when I put them away. I am seeing VERY small bits have some wear to the metal underneath; however, since it is not in the cooking area, and they are very tiny areas, I am not too concerned.

Cooking with these pans has been great, and clean up is so easy. The only time I really had to scrub was after sauteeing asparagus in olive oil in the large pan (I wash my pans only by hand). For some reason it took a couple of washings to really get that 'seasoned' part to come out.

When I was shopping for the pans, I was looking for a good product at a good value. While I wasn't thrilled with the floral design I...

All-Clad 3013 Hard Anodized Aluminum Nonstick 13 by 20-Inch Double Burner Grande Grille Pan Specialty Cookware, Black

Bargain All-Clad 3013 Hard Anodized Aluminum Nonstick 13 by 20-Inch Double Burner Grande Grille Pan Specialty Cookware, Black
==================================================================

Start grilling...without the grill. All-Clad's grande double griddle is perfect for creating the masterful flavors of quality grilling, all on your stovetop. Long enough to cook a dozen burgers, or even eight T-bone steaks, the griddle is hard anodized and non-stick, to cook efficiently and clean easily. Attractively designed and incredibly tough, each piece from the LTD line is constructed from three layers of metal; a stainless steel interior, aluminum core and hard-anodized aluminum exterior....
  • Family-size, 20-by-13-inch, nonstick pan for stovetop grilling
  • Hard-anodized aluminum interior and exterior
  • Layer of scratch-resistant, professional-grade nonstick bonded to interior
  • Stainless-steel, stay-cool handles riveted for strength
  • Lifetime warranty against defects

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Typical All-Clad quality!
I have tried several stove top grills, so I feel qualified to comment on this one. First I bought the non-stick aluminum Nordicware grill, which worked ok till the non-stick peeled. Next I tried the LeCreuset, which was sooooo heavy, hard to clean, and began to develop rust spots. Next was the Lodge Logic, which was similar to the LeCreuset, but cheaper. (Too heavy and hard to clean.) Finally, I purchased this All-Clad Grande Grille Pan, which is the largest of the lot. It cooks evenly over two burners on my gas stove and cleans up easily with a little soaking. So far, this grill out performs any of the others and I am finally HAPPY with my purchase! (If you are a Foodie, you may notice Giada DeLaurentis using this same grill on "Everyday Italian".) If you are in the market for a quality stove-top grill, this one won't disappoint you.

2. Well-made for what it's for
It's important to realize that this grill pan won't heat up like your outdoor charcoal grill, retain heat like cast iron (le creuset or lodge), or even cook fish, chicken, and steak the same way as a gas grill. What this incredibly easy to use (both for cooking and cleaning) piece of kitchen ware is great for is finding that perfect balance for light grilling when you dont have the time or convenience to do it the old fashioned way.

I am a purist when it comes to certain cookware. Cast iron just does some things better. But cast iron isn't for everyone. It's heavy, doesn't 'clean' the way many people are comfortable with, and takes some adjustment to understand its slow cooking properties. This grill pan is great if you're looking to do the following:

1. Grill up some salmon or swordfish steaks without worrying about leaving a 'fishy' residue on that precious, seasoned grill you have

2. Tenderize and cook to near perfection some chicken you have...

So good I bought two.....
Actually, had to buy two because I had the misfortune of leaving our old one inside of the stove in our previous apartment! Well the new renters surely got a fabulous housewarming gift. This grill is easy to clean and wonderful to handle on two burners. We put one burner on medium for cooking and the other on low for keeping the finished food at the right temperature (handy when doing protein and veggies at same time). Also, if your oven is big enough, you can sear the meat on top of the stove and move it into a 450 preheated oven to panroast (the stainless handles make this a cinch). We've used Creuset as an alternative, and it's just not as easy to clean and maneuver. If you buy it on Amazon it's 99.95 plus free shipping (and whatever bonus is running--like today another $25.00 0ff with a small additional purchase in kitchenware). However, if you buy it at Williams Sonoma you can get it with shipping of 10-15 dollars but you do get garlic paste and stainless steel skewers)...

  • Riveted stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop
  • Matching stainless-steel lids seal in moisture and nutrients
  • Oven-safe to 450 degrees F; limited lifetime warranty; dishwasher-safe

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A Dose of Reality
I want to add a dose of realism to the many positive reviews here. We've had this cookware set for about 5 months. It comes packaged very nicely, seems well made and looks very good. And there's the rub. Unlike a lot of stainless cookware, these are very shiny. If you like that, you'll be satisfied, but you should bear in mind that the finish is fragile. It's easy to scratch and easy to discolor. We use the steamer every day and on one occasion I accidentally boiled it dry. I took the pot off the heat very quickly, but the result was a faint gold tint on the outside that cannot be removed. I don't really mind the color change, but it worries me.

I've used the frying pan a couple of times to make eggs and here again the shine isn't necessarily a good thing. Butter actually beads up on the surface as it melts and you have to use an awful lot if you want it to cover the bottom of the pan.

The instructions warn you many times not to use steel wool for cleaning. So...

2. Dissapointed by quality - Not like my other Cuisinart
I purchased this set a year ago. I already had the 12 inch skillet, the 5 qt. saute pan and a 2 qt. saucepan, which I LOVE and use on a regular basis. I expected this set to be the same quality as these other Chef's Classic pans that I had purchased individually, but the pans in this set just don't measure up.

The first thing I noticed is that these pans are lighter weight. The 3 qt. saucepan from this set is much lighter than the 2 qt. saucepan I already had. This would be okay, except that food tends to stick more easily to the 3 qt. I think the botton of the pans in this set must be thinner than my other Chef's Classic. Also, these pan do spot more- I use Barkeepers Friend for all my Cuisinart, but I find the pans in this set discolor every time I use them, which is annoying.

My biggest beef is with the pasta insert. I chose this particular set because it included the pasta insert, but the pan is not just useless - it is a menace. The holes are way to small,...

Excellent Cookware Set!
I am no chef but I do love to cook, and I purchased this set for myself after moving cross-country and giving away an old set of Farberware stainless. I have been using these for the last month and a half and I couldn't be more pleased. I absolutely love them!

They heat evenly and the handles do, indeed, stay cool. The pots clean up beautifully. There has been some minor discoloration on the frying pans but that's to be expected, I think, given their purpose. But the saucepans and stockpot come out of the dishwasher looking as pristine as when I took them out of the box! They are SO pretty... Lastly, these pots and pans are not too heavy, which was sa concern for me. I'd tried out other pots and pans (like the Emerilware) at department stores and found them extremely heavy to lift; the Cuisinart Chef's Classic are the perfect weight for me.

You do have to be careful about keeping the heat lower, though, or things do burn. The other thing I've found is that, while...

  • Stainless steel base is suitable for all stove tops - including induction
  • Comfortable silicone and cast stainless steel handles provide a slip-free grasp and are oven safe to 400 degrees farenheit

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good - but not as good as the Circulon Infinite which it replaces
This is good value for money cookware. It is ideal for induction cooktops, where choice at any reasonable price is limited.

It is important to note that this is NOT like 'normal' non-stick. When frying, you need to cook with a small amount of olive oil - do that and the pans work great and will easily wipe clean. If you use butter or try to cook high-fat burgers, the non-stick coating will be compromised. I keep one pan for those tasks: it comes clean with a non-stick scourer, but it can take some work.

The main difference between Symmetry and Infinite Circulon is the handles: the coatings are identical. Symmetry handles have a plastic insert whereas the Infinite range were all metal. Main problem is that these new handles are shorter which makes them harder to balance with the larger, heavier pans. They are also not as well shaped. I never found that the all-metal handles got hot, so I don't understand why they needed to be changed. My advice would therefore be...

2. amazing (with very minor flaws)
Before I start complaining, I want to emphasize that these are very very high quality and the best set I've ever owned (I also have the anolon set Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set, 11-Piece and I think they are both of equal quality (made by same company) but I prefer the circulon set). The anolon set is more beautiful/elegant but not dishwasher safe and don't work with all heat sources.

The bottom of these pots and pans is very thick which make these amazing. There are no hot spots. It was amazing to watch water boil in them and have even sized bubbles form everywhere in the bottom. It is very forgiving if you have the burner too hot as food won't burn in specific spots.

These are dishwasher and metal utensil safe. I use them in the dishwasher all the time but I don't want to use metal utensils in them.

When I first got them, I hand washed them...

Very forgiving, dishwasher safe, great handles!
This is the best cookware set I've ever owned. I actually have this set in a 13 piece that was offered through Costco for a short period of time. My old, much more expensive, Calphalon basically was wrecked after 5 years. The true test of cookware is how it holds up in the homes of lazy, sloppy people. Not that I consider myself lazy and sloppy, but today I was boiling dark purple wooden popsicle sticks for a craft project for my kids. Forgot about the sticks and the water boiled away, leaving the wooden sticks to burn on the bottom of the pan. Once the burning campfire smell drew me back to the kitchen, I lifted the sticks out and let the pan soak for a couple of minutes, brushed it out with the dish brush and there was not even a mark or finish problem at all. I was absolutely amazed - I mean, it was burning WOOD on the bottom of a pan on high heat! This is the second time I've had the empty pan sitting on a hot burner and the pan was fine. I recall that this "feature" was on...

Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry Pan

Cheapest Scanpan CTX 12-3/4-Inch Fry Pan
==================================================================

The most versatile of all cookware, Scanpan CTX Fry Pans come in several sizes making it easy to cook the perfect scrambled eggs for one or chicken piccata for the entire family. Multi-layer fused construction results in rapid and even heat distribution throughout the body of the cookware. Recycled aluminum core with Ceramic Titanium PFOA-Free Non-stick interior surface and 18/10 Stainless Steel exterior. Pan is oven and broiler safe so going from the stove top to the oven has never been easier....
  • 5-Layer clad recycled aluminum-stainless steel construction
  • Patented ceramic titanium surface with PFOA-Free GreenTek non-stick allows the use of any utensil, including metal utensils
  • Allows you to achieve gourmet cooking results by being able to brown, sear and deglaze all different types of food -things you can't do with traditional nonstick pans
  • Quick even heat distribution and superb heat retention
  • Suitable for all stove tops including induction

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nothing better than Scanpan!
This is our Third Scanpan, and we love them. Quite simply the best non-stick cookware we have found.

Let me give a quick background - After we collected All-Clad for several years, it was evident that the non-stick All-Clad was not up to the task. It began to get old and clean-up became tiresome and difficult as the All-Clad non-stick coating wore down and honestly stopped working. We also own some of the All-Clad stainless that is "supposed" to be non-stick based on heating it first, but I find that to be untrue. For pots and other cookware we still like it.

Scanpan has become our favorite cookware over the last 3 years, and the first one purchased is as clean and effective as this brand-new one. No visible wear or tear at all, and a breeze to clean up. We started with the small 8 inch, then the 10 inch, and now the 12 inch to round out our collection and replace our last All-Clad non-stick. It is all very durable and fast to heat up, giving perfect even...

2. Now it sticks.
I combined raw onions and a sweet Italian sausage in this skillet on low heat. After the onions were cooked I removed them and turned up the heat to medium high to brown the sausage. When that was done I tried to clean it. The onion remnants refused to be cleaned off. Something about them had bonded tightly to the surface. I contacted Scanpan and they advised adding a teaspoon of baking soda to two cups of water, bring to boil, let stand for 30 mins and then scrub. I had to repeat this EIGHT times before the surface was clean. Now the surface is nothing like as slippery as it was originally, and even fish sticks to it. It remains easy to clean, but it's still a disappointment.

Almost Perfect
I have been using the 8" and 10.25" pans for almost a year with an induction cooktop. I am considering the 12-3/4" one, too. They do occasionally go on sale here at Amazon for less than the usual prices. I wish they made a shallow 2-1/2 quart, 8" diameter saute pan with lid.

Other reviewers have mentioned what makes them so great, and I agree. I think there is something about the ceramic/titanium material embedded just below the surface that makes it cook so much like stainless steel, but without sticking, of course. I rarely use SS skillets for browning anymore, unless I want to make a sauce from the "fond" that builds up in the pan.

The one thing that would make them PERFECT would be a flared pouring rim. This may be difficult to implement due to the materials used. I don't know, but it would be great to have. I find that when I pour from these pans, I have to be ready with a slightly wet and soapy dishcloth to quickly wipe the side/bottom, as liquid...

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Square Skillet Grill, Cherry

Buy Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Square Skillet Grill, Cherry
==================================================================

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Square Skillet Grill, Caribbean From savory vegetables to mouthwatering steak, chicken and shrimp, the square Skillet Grill gives all the delicious flavor of an outdoor grill, then presents foods beautifully at the table. High ridges allow excess fat and grease to drain, and spouts on two sides allow for drip-free pours. Ribbed cooking surface drains away excess fatLe Creuset's durable black enamel finish (no seasoning required)Even heat distribut...
  • Square grill pan made of even-heating enameled cast iron
  • Ridges impart tasty grill marks on food and allow for lower-fat cooking
  • Cast-iron handle and opposite helper handle facilitate convenient transport
  • Hand washing recommended; oven- and broiler-safe
  • Measures approximately 12 by 13-1/2 by 2 inches; limited lifetime warranty

This Grill Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Wonderful product, even though it's specialized
The only reason why this doesn't get the last star, in my book, is because of its somewhat limited usefulness. However, if you live in an apartment or otherwise anywhere where grilling is impossible, this is the next best thing....like all other Le Creuset products this heats evenly and wonderfully and takes abuse. I got mine as part of a 6-piece set (along with a Dutch Oven, Baking Pan, and Casserole) and sorta at first saw this as a "filler" piece. However, to it's credit, this pan can do even easilly-burned items like tofu dogs and fake bacon WONDERFULLY, which shocked me--I was convinced that nothing could give a "grilled" effect to those items. I even got adventerous the first time I used it and grilled some apple rings. I panicked when some sugar seemed to be burnt on for good despite a good soaking, but after the pot had been dried and put away for 48 hours it flaked right off. Forget what you know about nonstick surfaces, btw, and banish those bad...

2. You'll eat more veggies and fish! Healthy and tasty!
Wow, I love this pan! I also live in an apartment, so this is a great substitute for outdoor grilling when you want a quick dinner. It's not as good as the outdoor charcoal grill, but this has some advantages. It's super easy. I use this pan several times a week. I pre-heat the pan, brush a little canola oil to the ribs, and while it warms up to the right temperature, I prepare the food. I cut some veggies (can use zucchini, squash, small eggplant, onions, bell pepper, etc), on the bias, so there's more surface area, toss with olive oil, salt & pepper, and grill. You may have to do several rounds of it if you have lots of veggies. After cooking until just tender, toss with a little balsamic vinegar and olive oil. DELICIOUS!! Also, we've been grilling some great local wild salmon on this pan. It is unbelievable. It is very quick, so don't overcook. Season with salt and pepper, and anything you like. Just practice a couple times, experiment with the temperature and your...

MANY A MEAL FROM THIS SQUARE DEAL!
(1) Where is it written, who decreed that skillets should be round? (2) Why has it taken me so long to discover the advantages of a square fry pan?

The answers are: nowhere that I know of, and because my mother always used a round skillet. She would have loved this enameled cast iron beauty that leaves appetizing sear marks on meat - a char effect without the mess. The ribbed base captures grease allowing for healthier low fat cooking, and the surface is a satiny black enamel that cleans in a breeze.

It's compatible with all heating surfaces, and has an easy hold comfortable handle. We lightly applied vegetable oil to the ribs before our first use, and for several times thereafter. Since then there has been no need for the addition of oils. By heating the grill for a few minutes on medium heat (test with a drop of water and heat until water droplets sizzle) we've found the cooking surface primed for superior cooking.

This nifty item has such a plethora of uses - it can...

Shun DM0700 Classic 3-1/2-Inch Paring Knife

Deals for Shun DM0700 Classic 3-1/2-Inch Paring Knife
==================================================================

A member of the stylish Shun Classic line, this durable paring knife deftly handles intricate dicing and trimming tasks alongside its requisite peeling and skin-removal role. The paring knife’s compact size makes it easy to handle and thus a favorite when control and precision are a priority. The tool features a narrow sloping blade measuring 3-1/2 inches in length with a piercing tip. Leveraging a 90-year history of superior workmanship, Shun knives are precision-forged in Japan by renowned ...
  • 3-1/2-inch Japanese paring knife; ideal for peeling, paring, or chopping
  • Precision-forged high-carbon stainless-steel blade; holds a razor-sharp edge
  • Clad with16 layers of stainless steel to produce a rust-free Damascus look
  • Durable D-shaped Pakkawood handle; comfortable offset steel bolster
  • lifetime warranty; manufactured in Seki City, Japan

This Paring Knives give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great knife ... but not worth the price
Let me first say that the Shun knives, including the 3 1/2 in paring knife, are fantastic. They are the sharpest kitchen knives around and hold an edge very well. The craftsmanship and quality are also extremely good.

However, a $45 paring knife does not make sense unless price is no object for you. You can get a Forschner 3 1/2 inch paring knife (rated number 1 by Cook's Illustrated) for $4.95, a tenth of the cost of this knife. As an owner of both knives, I can say that the Forschner is almost as sharp as the Shun and more comfortable to hold. Certainly the Shun is not 10 times as better as the Forschner.

It should also be noted that the prices on all the Shun knives have gone up after Alton Brown started promoting them. This paring knife was $30 a year ago when I bought it.

In summary, if price is no object for you and you want the best paring knife you can get, buy this knife. Otherwise, I would think twice before making this purchase.

2. Shun Knives are Beautiful, Elegant, and the Sharpest around
I have a whole set of these blades, so I'm breaking down my review to two parts: Review of the Shun Classic Blades, and the portion as it pertains to this knife in particular.

I absolutely love this knife and it's my second most used knife. My first most used is my work horse, the Shun Ken Onion 8" Chef's Knife. There are many small tasks that the Paring Knife is a must for though, and that's when I grab this one. When you want to trim a nice piece of meat, rib a green pepper, etc...you don't want a big knife, you need this little one. It's little, but so sharp that it slices through anything like butter, making prep work so easy and enjoyable.

Shun knives are beautiful creations period. Since I'm Asian, I love the tradition look and feel of this Japanese knife. I love the beauty of the blade and the dark, polished, Pakkawood handle. The unique "D"-shaped, Wood handles are preferable. The shape fits my hand perfectly, and the wood does not get slippery when...

Scanpan Classic 10-1/4-Inch Fry Pan

Bargain Scanpan Classic 10-1/4-Inch Fry Pan
==================================================================

Luxurious Danish design, traditional, solid craftsmanship and the latest advances in technology combine to make Scanpan IQ the new cookware generation. Scanpan IQ is hand-crafted, squeeze-cast in , recycled aluminum. IQ Cookware is suitable for induction and all other cook tops. The optimum thickness of the pan base prevents warping and keeps the pan base perfectly flat, especially important when used with glass top or ceramic ranges. The pan thickness and unique ceramic-titanium surface allo...

  • Green Tek ceramic-titanium nonstick finish is safe for metal utensils
  • High-density phenolic resin handle securely attached without rivets
  • Dishwasher-safe, though washing by hand recommended
  • Oven-safe to 500 degrees F; covered by full lifetime warranty

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Scanpan Warranty is a Joke!!
I have this pan - worked great for about 1.5 years but then began to "bubble" on the flat surface. Obviously this is a manufacturing issue & Scanpan claims to have a lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects. I sent it off to the factory & they refuse the claim due to lack of cleaning...
I work in a freaking research & development department for cookware. I know how to clean a fry pan. Their "claim" is a small area on the lip of the pan - FAR AWAY from the main bubbling issue - & an area I didn't scrub completely because once I noticed the bubbling, the pan is useless to me.
This is a complete joke & their warranty "policy" is apparently: unless if falls out of the manufacturer's box in 10 pieces all while catching it on camera with a factory representative on hand, we will not cover.
Roll the dice if you choose. This pan is so expensive, for them not to treat warranty claims with the respect they deserve is ridiculous.

2. Piece of junk, they all stick after a while.
I've owned several Scanpan products. This fry pan, an 8-inch fry pan and a sauce pan. All stick after being used for a while. After I had problems with the first one I talked to the store I bought it from and to Scanpan. They said to use lower heat and don't use cooking sprays. I followed those instructions with the next pan I bought and still had problems. I also tried the "restore" method mentioned in the manual using the steel wool that was included with the pan without any success.

When they were new they were great, but once they started sticking, they were worse than a regular pan without a non-stick coating. Plus the sellers won't back them up. I tried to return mine under their "Lifetime" warranty, none of the stores selling them would take them back without talking to the distributor first. The distributor never returned my phone calls. Also a major consumer testing magazine that originally gave these a high rating retracted that rating after getting bad feedback...

It really works
= really works
Reviewer: /Ken from Tracy, CA USA
I just got one. I tried cooking an egg with no oil in it on medium heat. It stuck a little, but I could clean it off with one wipe of a paper towel. I can't do this with any other pan I own. With just a slight amount of butter (a pat cut 1/16th inch thick), I repeated the test and was able to flip the egg with ease and there was NO stcking at all. It cleaned off with just dabbing a paper towel along the surface. The outside of the pan also has non stick sides, so if you get some slop on the sides on the outside of the pan, it wipes off as well. The heat distribution was superb as evidenced by the changing pattern from clear to white of the egg white and the uniformity of browning of the egg surface. I intend to use this pan for omlettes and crepes. It exceeds any other fry / saute pan I've used.

You can use metal utensils on this pan: amazing. The handle is suppossed to be good to 500 deg F. I finally found a non stick pan...

36 1/2" x 9" Satin Nickel Bookshelf Pot Rack w/ 12 Hooks

Bargain 36 1/2" x 9" Satin Nickel Bookshelf Pot Rack w/ 12 Hooks
==================================================================

36 1/2" x 9" Satin Nickel Bookshelf Pot Rack w/ 12 Hooks
  • Heavy gauge pot rack measures 36 1/2-inch by 19-inch 15-1/2-inch
  • Comes with a matching grid and 12 hooks
  • Plated metal finish increases the durability and strength of each pot rack
  • Top of the grid can be used for additional storage
  • Removable hooks allows you to adjust and arrange the pots

This Pot Racks give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Beautiful Pot Rack, Easy to Install, Very Functional
After purchasing some new cookware, we opted to help out our storage problem in the kitchen by installing a pot rack. Not only does it help free up cabinet space, but it looks great on the wall. I looked around for awhile trying to find a good, sturdy pot rack that was decently priced. Now, I'm not sure I'd call this decently priced, but it was one of the most sturdy units on the market. It has a very solid appearance and has a more modern design to it than many of the other racks I found.

Installation was simple and straightforward. Bolts are spaced with 16" on center studs in mind, so it should work out well for most installations. Just make sure to get everything level, install the bolts and in about 20-25 minutes you'll be good to go. You'll probably want to have a second set of hands to help hold the rack itself (it's fairly heavy...but that's a good sign of a quality build).

We have a mixture of cast iron skillets and an entire stainless steel set of...

2. Soild Product, Very Sturdy
Pot rack was just what we expected and fits all the pots prefectly. We used all 12 hooks without it seeming crowded. The rack has 32" between the holes so if you can't hit the studs plan on a alternative way to hang it, ofcourse this goes with any purchase.
Pros - Sturdy, holds cast iron skillets and all 12 pots/pan without any worries. Very stylish
Cons - The pins that hold the shelf were not exactly smooth in the back so I had to file them down for it to fit flush aganist the wall. These same pins are hidden on the front so this is not a concern.
Overall - Great pot rack which will hold anything you put on it.

the perfect kitchen rack
I too got this shelf the day after I ordered it, but I selected Saturday delivery because I wanted to install it immediately. It's easy to install if you know how to find studs, and oh-so-sturdy, as the other reviews say. It's also really gorgeous, and since we are storing pots and measuring cups on hooks and canisters on top, it has brought much-needed order to our kitchen. I'm even searching for other Old Dutch products right now.

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Very nice pan
This is flat bottomed, and works very well with our glass topped electric stove. I can't comment on durability, because I haven't had it very long. This is very well built, has a great non stick coating, strong handles that stay cool, and cooks very evenly on my electric stove. The paperwork (or box, don't recall) say it's okay to use metal utensils with it.

I also have the 8 and 10 inch skillets, they all cook great. I wanted lids for the pans, and found that the glass lids from the Anolon "Advanced" cookware line fit very well, and look great. But as far as I can see, you can only buy a 10-12 inch set. Not individually, and not for the 8 inch. Anolon Advanced Glass Lids 10-Inch and 12-Inch Glass Lids Twin Pack

2. Induction problem...
Nice pans but the bottoms tend to want to delaminate when used on induction stove... Avoid overheating these at all costs..

great pan!
I bought my set of Anolon Nouvelle copper cookware set elsewhere online because of the price difference between what Amazon had offered. The 12-inch pan did not come with the set, and wanted to get it to "complete the set". (Also bought the glass 10 and 12 inch glass lids thru Amazon). After reading every review I could, spending what seem weeks comparing this set to other cookware, ie., stainless clad, enamel, stoneware, price, ect., I decided on this set. Depending on what you cook, how you cook it are the deciding factors. Staub and Le Creuset are great sets, but not what I needed. Stainless and copper are also a nice cookware, but I don't have the time to polish them after using then every time.

I decided on Anolon Copper because of its design and price. Heats evenly and retains the heat after turning off your stove. Oven safe to 500(?) degrees, dishwasher safe, although I hand wash them. Meyer makes this set and Rachael Rays cookware. I was torn between Rachaels and...

Proctor Silex Celebration Ceramic Non Stick Coating 10 Piece Cookware Set comes in the fashion colors of blue and red. The set is PTFE and PFOA free and ceramic coated with our STONECOAT non stick interior with diamond infused technology. The cookware is aluminum with phenolic handles and tempered glass lids. • Chemical Free PTFE & PFOA Free
  • Easy Use and Easy Clean Surface
  • High Temperature Resistant
  • Abrasion Resistant
  • No Heavy Metal

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. What the Ad doesn't tell you...
I've been looking for a new set of pots &pans to replace my 16-18 year old WEAREVER. No where in the ad does it indicate that the cookware is "approved" for flat cook tops. The bottoms must be flat so they make contact with the cook top surface. I took a chance. Yesterday they came well packed and each in a plastic bag. I took them out and ran them thru the dishwasher.. after "testing" on the cold cook top to see if they "wobble". Meaning they are not making contact evenly. All good. So I packed up all my old pots and pans into this box & took it to Disabled Americans Thrift store. Heated some soup in the sauce pan that night... Found upon lifting it hot the handle was loose.. Screwdriver tighten. Then this morning made French toast in the large skillet. I found the pan "wobbling" by the time I was on my 8th piece. The pans are aluminum and have a flat machined bottom, but heat warped the pan the first heating!!! With the box & packing gone, returning it I don't think it can happen...

2. In love with my new pans!
I have always used the teflon coated non stick pans but was tired of the teflon flaking off. I was skeptical about making this purchase but I can tell you, in the month that I have owned these pans, i have used every one of them and they are amazing! I have a crappy flat top electric stove and these pans work just fine. I dont have to put anything in the pan when I cook my eggs and they slide right out. Clean up is sooooo easy, you could just wipe them out with a paper towel! I have washed them by hand, in the dishwasher etc. I have owned all of the expensive designer label cookware and these are more than comparable and the price for what you get...SWEET! I absolutely love them!

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Perfect Pan, Excellent Value!
Ever wish for the perfect size pan for vegies, soup, sauce or gravy? Are you cooking for one or two, or need a small pan for a side dish? Ever wish you could thoroughly heat clam chowder without scorching it? Wish you could save energy by being able to cook at a lower temperature? Wishing for a pan that takes little room in the cupboard or dishwasher? One that heats from the sides as well as the bottom for even heat distribution without hot spots? A pan that is so substantial and sturdy that it may last a lifetime? If so, this may be the perfect pan for you. Some people avoid stainless because food might stick, but I have absolutely no problem with this pan. I have a small kitchen and am delighted that this pan actually fits sideways in the dishwasher between rows of posts, and because it is wider than it is tall I can stack several on one shelf. It is 3 ply, with aluminum for superior heat conduction sandwiched between layers of top quality stainless steel. Stainless doesn't react...

2. Nice little saucepan

This give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Keep a can of air freshener handy
First, I own a 2 qt Deni pressure cooker that I am very happy with. I decided to try a larger one. I ordered the 4.2 qt (part no. 9740) and decided to wash and try it right after receiving it. I like Butternut squash. I peeled the squash and cut into chunks. Into the pressure cooker the chunks went and after adding water following the written directions, I started the process. Soon I had the pungent aroma of burnt squash wafting thru my home. I checked the unit. The countdown timer had never started. Therefore, the unit never reached pressure. Why was that? It turned out there was no safety valve pin inserted in the cover. I found it in my wash basin in the sink. The gasket, I found out later, that holds it in place was missing. All the water had evaporated.

There was a slip of paper in the box that suggested contacting the supplier with problems before returning to Amazon. I emailed them. I got a terse response. (Paraphrasing) "Gasket is missing, call us." I called and was...

2. Great cooker - almost perfect
I have used conventional pressure cookers for over 20 years. I am very familiar with issues of safety, efficacy and style. I love pressure cookers because of considerable saving in time, in energy usage and the substantially higher quality of the cooking results.

I bought the Deni 4.2Qt (or 4liter) pressure cooker because it promised to avoid the most significant hassles of using pressure cookers - you have to watch the cooker carefully! First, you have to note when the pressure is reached, second you have to time the cooking interval, third you need to make sure that the cooker remains at the chosen - high or low setting and finally you have to remember to turn the heat off. The Deni takes care of all these hassles because you can just set it up and go do other things while the cooker does all of the above by itself. Although it does occupy more space and is not stylish at all, it is very very quiet in its operation. Also, there is no mess due to boiling over...

It's easy to cook healthfully with pressure cookers, since the food retains so much more of its nutrients and flavor. The sturdy lid locks do...

This Pressure Cookers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love it!
I had never had a pressure canner or cooker in the past. I do a lot of canning/preserving, but had always done the basic "hot bath" type for pickling & jellies. I needed a decent pressure canner so I could (safely) do low acid veggies & meats. This item was given to me as a gift. Just used it today and it is very easy to work with. The instruction manual was precise and to the point. So much so, I was glad to have my canning book and some other info on pressure canning from elsewhere as it seemed they assumed you had already used one in the past. But I won't mark it down in rating for that. Could just be me and my interpretation issues. This Granite Ware 0707-1 21-1/2-Quart Steel/Porcelain Water-Bath Canner with Rack is a heavy duty, quality made item. Looks to last me years of service.

Anyhow, if you want to pressure can some quality foods for storage, be that veggies from your garden or the...

2. Mostly love this pressure cooker/canner/steamer
I bought this after seeing it advertised in a garden catalog and looking for a better price online. I have a regular pressure cooker and a canner, but I wanted to be able to can more fruits and veggies, and I was sold by the ad on the box (not shown here, shown on other product pages online for this model) that advertised you could steam 60 tamales in it. I'm still trying to find out how to do that, as the steamer comes with NO recipes and almost no information at all in the manual.

This is the first time I've used a pressure canner/steamer and there was a bit of a learning curve. My regular pressure cooker came with a great manual with precise instructions and cooking times, recipes, etc. and I expected that with this one. This barely has instructions on how to put it together and operate it, plus one chart about cooking times. I've had to research everything online to be sure I don't blow up the kitchen. :)

That said, it is a great product and we've used...

If you are buying a pressure cooker, buy this one
I have been canning for a few years now, and decided to take it to the next level, more foods more canning. The water bath method si not possible for a lot of foods so it was a necessary purchase. I looked at a bunch, as I am sure that you did and finally settled on this one. I could not be happier. The packaging was very well done, and shipped in just a few days. The cooker itself is very sturdy and well made. Cleans easy, loads easy, works great, heavy duty construction.

  • 13-Inch French Skillet with helper handle and lid
  • Large surface area ideal for braising and perfect for breakfast dishes like frittatas, crepes and omelets
  • High rounded sides facilitate easy flipping and turning of foods
  • Lid reduces splatter and locks in moisture during cooking times in the oven
  • Induction compatible

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A Solid Pan
As with all All Clad products, this skillet is solidly built and performs as advertised. The helper handle makes it easier to use with heavy loads, but harder to hang up with my other pans since the space I have isn't as big as this pan is long. The included instructions say not to use salt directly in the pan as the pan will become discoloured or pitted; The first time I used the pan, I salted my fish fillet prior to placing it in the pan and the pan became pitted immediately. I don't mind that much since it was going to happen eventually.

2. Reasons I Love this Pan
All-Clad is a brand of cookware I am familiar with and this is a recent gift I feel so fortunate to have been given.
First, I love the overall high quality construction. When I'm cooking with this I know I'm definitely cooking with one of the very best skillets there is.
Two, I am not too thrilled with Teflon coatings and this provides a stainless steel inside which helps keep food from sticking, without Teflon or similar coatings.
Three, though it may not be very important to some, I love the look of the skillet. It just gleams. I love the bolts holding the handles in place.
Three, the handles don't get hot. This to me is very important, because when hustling in the kitchen, I have accidentally opened pans without a mitt and gotten my fingers burned.
Four, the heat is evenly maintained and will not burn in certain spots.
I am just thrilled with my skillet.
Everyone has their preferences and I prefer this skillet to my others and the lid fits...

The Perfect Skillet
Most of my cookware is nonstick, but I needed a large skillet with a lid that could handle high heat in the oven. I decided to use it to make my spaghetti sauce today. I fried the Italian sausage, then the meatballs, ground beef, and then I sauteed the onions and peppers and finished with the tomatoes and let it all simmer. I was shocked when after all of this the pan was spotless using only my dish sponge and liquid soap. Cleanup was as easy as my nonstick. I don't expect it to always be so, but this was amazing. This was my firt tri ply, and the even heating was dramatic. I had intended for this to be the last piece of cookware I would ever need, now I plan to replace a few of my nonstick pieces with All Clad.

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Really impressed
So far I'm thoroughly pleased with this cookware. Looks great, comfortable handles, nice heavy weight, and most importantly, heats evenly without the hotspots found with less substantial cookware. Absolutely love the size of the 'dutch oven'. It's heavy enough and the perfect size for my 'no knead bread' recipe.

I'll admit to being a bit leery prior to purchase. Only announced in June of 2011, this line was an unproven commodity. We were leaning heavily toward the All-Clad stainless line. I decided to order the 1qt saucepan of the French Classic Cuisinart cookware to compare. After that we were sold.

Pros:
Induction compatible, which was a must for us as we plan on upgrading to an induction cook top.
Handles more comfortable than All-Clad (an individual thing I'm sure. Try them both if you can to see which you prefer.)
Price compared to other what I would call "better quality" lines of cookware like All-Clad, Viking's Pro line,...

2. French classic
Awesome set. Fast to heat up. Even heating. Foods don't stick. Comfortable handles. Great look and mirror finish all for hundreds of dollars less than all clad.

Buying Tips
This review will compare this set to a similar set available at Bed Bath and Beyond. For a general comparison to other brands of tri-ply, see my review of Cuisinart FCT33-28H French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle and Cover As you can read, the French Classic is constructed the same or better than other lines of tri-ply, but I really like how it looks. It's cost is similar, or cheaper than most lines. It performs great, and compares well to my outgoing Circulon set. It's also probably the only thing I own that's made in France, and I like to buy non-Chinese(quality and slave labor issues) when possible, so that's worth something.

The set at BB&B costs $240 if you use one of their 20% off coupons, which is quiet a bit cheaper than this set. They are both 10 piece sets. Both come with the same 8 and 10 inch open skillets, and a steamer basket. Both have a 2 quart...

This Pressure Cookers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Kitchen Essential
I read about this in Cooks Illustrated and, on the strength of their recommendation, asked for it for Christmas. It has performed superbly. I am using it several times a week and have not been disappointed. Get the bigger size, because you will want to do roasts, broths, etc. It really cuts down on cooking time while enhancing flavor, which opens up a lot of weeknight possibilities.

2. Handle Leaks
INITIAL RATING: ONE STAR. I was very excited to start cooking with this since I'm a huge Cooks Illustrated fan and the idea of shortening cooking times for weekday meals really appealed to me. When I started cooking with the Fissler, I noticed that I couldn't turn down the heat without also losing pressure. Steam kept escaping from the handle valve throughout the cooking process. I kept cooking with it but if I kept the heat high enough to maintain the high level of pressure, the rice would burn at the bottom. If I ignored the pressure gauge and turned the heat to low or even medium, the meat wouldn't be tender. I've been emailing the company back and forth with detailed accounts of my problems. They made me do a test with just water and steam still kept escaping from the handle (which is not supposed to be the case, apparently). I even took it to a friend's house to do a side by side cooking comparison to his pressure cooker and pressure could not be maintained at his stovetop...

Worth the Price
About six weeks ago I purchased a first generation aluminum "jiggler" model pressure cooker. It was cheap and similar to what my mother used 40 years ago. However, the build quality was much worse. My mom's was made in the USA and the new model was made in China. I loved pressure cooking but disliked the Presto.

After doing some research and getting my feet wet with pressure cooking, I decided to purchase a second generation model. I looked at and ruled out the Fagor models as they are really an 1 1/2 generation model. The Fagors uses a spring instead of a weight. However they have a pop up indicator similar to the Presto. That indicator only shows pressure and not full 15# pressure. On the Presto you judge full pressure when the weight jiggles. On the Fagor you judge full pressure when the steam escapes. You regulate the temperature to a level where the steam escapes very slowly. Thus the Fagor is only generation 1.5.

I wanted a true generation two cooker. In...

1. All-Clad worth the Price
Over 30 years ago, my husband surprised me with my first All-Clad LTD set. It cooked beautifully (and still does), but the finish has deteriorated because of my care. SO, this lovely little 1-1/2 quart sauce pan is a replacement piece for a 30+ pan. It is beautiful! It shines, it goes in the dishwasher without a worry, it cleans up perfectly. All-Clad is worth the expense. And I love it!

2. its All Clad, what else is there to say?
Its All Clad, what else is there to say? These pans are wonderful to cook with. I learned about them when I took a cooking class at our local Chef School. If I had gas cooking I'd be in heaven, but I have electric coils so these work just fine. I love cooking with them and they are amazingly easy to clean, even when something gets burned. I use the same things I use on my Circulon non-stick pots and pans. If it discolors you just use a little "barkeepers friend" cleanser. I love that I can put these in a hot oven for the "finish cooking". I know these will last me a life time.
They arrive carefully packed in their own little soft bags. I felt like I had received a treasure.
I've been using these pans for about 3 months and I love them. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself, even if you decide to try just one pan. Well worth the investment.

10 Stars to the All Clad Company
I own practically everything this company has ever made, even some pieces that haven't been made in years. I have cookware, utensils, canisters, you name it. I generally don't buy designer items, but I try to buy quality. This line has been one of the best investments in my home I've ever made.

Just a couple of months ago, after having a conversation asking if they'd examine some of my cookware (the bottoms on those pieces were not flat enough to use on my glass top range without spinning around), I mailed off 4 of my larger pieces.

Thanks to All Clad, I have brand new, non-spinning cookware items- 3 qt and 6 qt saute pans, an 8 qt stockpot, and a 12" frypan.

I found them to be very kind, and when it was all said and done, they replaced every piece from the over 17-year old set that I sent them without question or hesitation. They even included brand new lids for the 3 items I sent that use them without requesting the lids from my old cookware...

  • Oven safe to 350 degrees F; dishwasher safe, though handwashing recommended; limited lifetime warranty

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Beware unintentionally misleading reviews. Quality is just ok.
I am reviewing this cookware set having owned & used it for ~6 months. At first glance, this set seems to be very well reviewed; however if you read the reviews closely, it will become apparent that many of them are for older versions of Farberware sets (e.g. "I've owned mine for 27 years...", etc. (!)) Such reviews are very helpful in giving us a concept of the quality of Farberware from 1980, but they are unfortunately irrelevant to the quality of this set. I bought this set aware of said discrepancy, but was hoping that quality had been maintained, a good manufacturer in the past probably being a good one now, etc. etc. This was an error. As it has been noted, the pans' bases are not stainless steel, but rather aluminum that is quite far from stainless. The nonstick coating on said pans is beginning to separate from the pan in several small but spreading points (as I only use plastic spatulas/spoons/etc. to cook with, this is not an issue of user error). I have no complaint with...

2. Great stainless steel, but skillets are 100% aluminum.
We're happy with our 20-year-old Farberware stainless steel cookware, pre-dating the stainless steel capped base. The interiors are still like new. The lids are shiny and dent-free. The handles are faded, but remain tight with an occasional turn of a screw. We use it everyday.

We are equally pleased with the newer "Classic" pieces, especially with the added weight and improved appearance of the capped bases. We bought the 15-piece set, giving us some redundant pieces but at a better price than buying fewer pieces individually.

We like stainless steel for several reasons: It cooks well. We can use metal utensils. It lasts for decades. It's dishwasher safe without consequence. It looks good. It's heavy enough. It cleans up easily. (For occasional stuck on food, we simply blot out what's loose, add water, and bring to a boil. After a few seconds, the stuck on food wipes off easily.)

There's pricier cookware available, some with aluminum cores...

Not quite as good as the old stuff
Farberware classic is great -- an inexpensive yet equally functional alternative to the very expensive pots & pans. Note: recently Farberware reduced its quality, in that older Farberware pots & pans had their thick aluminum base completely encased within a stainless steel shell. The newer pots & pans have the aluminum base attached to the bottom, but not encased within a stainless steel bottom. So, their quality is less than it was; most people who "grew up with Farberware" may not realize this. Farberware used to hold the patent on the technique of having the aluminum base CURVE up the side of the pan -- they no longer do this, and are the same as many other manufacturers.

This All Pans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Cooking eggs in All-Clad
I fry eggs in my All-Clad pans all the time. Some tips:

1. Mmake sure the pan is impeccably clean. I give it a quick once over with a soft sponge and Cameo Stainless Steel Cleanser before I fry eggs in it.

2. Heat the pan for 2 minutes before adding the oil. I find that butter is better than oil for eggs. If I'm on a diet, I use a little oil with just a touch of butter.

3. Let the oil heat before adding the eggs.

4. Let the eggs set before moving the pan around. Once the white is set, you can swirl the eggs around in the pan to make sure they release before you give them a flip. If perchance they stick a little, I use a small, heat resistant flexible spatula to gently coax the sticky places off the pan.

2. Great pan
This pan is great, easy to cook with, very even heating, and very light for its size compared to cast iron, solid steel, or copper bottom pans.

It seems a little pricey, but once you cook with it a while, you realize why it is so good.

Metal handles help when doing oven pan roasting -- they don't melt like plastic ones do, but still stay cool on the stove top -- unlike some other brands metal handles.

You get a good fond with it, so you have lots of good stuff left for making gravies and pan sauces with.

No non-stick stuff to flake off. Metal handles are rivoted on, so they don't fall off like those cheap bolted on plastic ones (anything by Faberware) or the welded on metal ones.

The only caution is don't cook things like eggs and pancakes in it -- they stick like crazy no matter how much oil you use..... buy a non-stick pan for that sort of stuff.

you really can't beat it
Nothing tops All-Clad cookware. It looks fantastic and it performs like no other. I prefer the stainless line because it's dishwasher safe and because I like the neat polished exterior. Looks great hanging on a rack glistening in the sunlight. Be sure to pick up some "Bar Keepers Friend" cleanser because thats one of the few products will take off minor stains. This 12-inch frypan is great for a large stir-fry, a pound of bacon, just about anything BIG that won't in a 10-inch.

Featuring stainless steel interior and exterior surfaces and an impact-bonded aluminum base for even heating, Simply Calphalon Staineless Steel beautifully combines durability with value. Stainless steel is ideal for all types of cooking including searing and browning, and is dishwasher safe for faster, easier cleanup.
  • Stainless steel interior and exterior surfaces
  • Aluminum core bottom for even heating
  • Domed glass covers make it easy to monitor foods while they cook
  • 100% dishwasher safe

This Cookware Sets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Simply Amazing
I'm on a crusade against Teflon (as much as one can be lol) and love the look and the durability of stainless steel cookware. However, for some inexplicable reason, most stainless steel cookware has handles that are also stainless steel, so the handles heat up along with the pan. Seeing how this is a huge inconvenience for anyone who actually wants to use stainless steel pans, when I saw this set, with silicone rubber around the handles, I knew I needed them. (Also, I'd been using my grandmother's Farberware pots and the handles started becoming loose, and they DON'T make Farberware like they used to lol.) $199 is a lot, granted, but you get a lot in this set, and the glass covers and the cookware is of extremely high quality. The pots and pants heat up quick and evenly, and they're heavy, extremely durable, and dishwasher safe. Calphalon for the win.

2. Great pots! Don't forget to buy the cleaner Calphalon recommends!!
Sigh... What wonderful pots. They conduct heat fantastically, look smashing, and are just a joy to use.

Cleaning-
Initially, after cooking a few meals I became quite distraught at the staining and phantom residue that the pans were retaining. Scrubbing with a scouring pad didn't work and soaking proved fruitless. Inside of two weeks the pots looked "used."

With nowhere else to turn, I decided to purchase the product Calphalon RECOMMENDS for cleaning their pots, Bar Keepers Friend
