The Graniteware 20 Qt Pressure Canner and Pressure Cooker/Steamer is a professional-quality tool, made of heavy-duty anodized aluminum, with stay-cool handles and a strong-lock steel lid. An accompanying rack fits down into the pot to keep jars up off the bottom, so that liquid can circulate underneath. And it can do double duty as a large pressure cooker. It's easy to cook healthfully with pressure cookers, since the food retains so much more of its nutrients and flavor. The sturdy lid locks do...

This Pressure Cookers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love it!
I had never had a pressure canner or cooker in the past. I do a lot of canning/preserving, but had always done the basic "hot bath" type for pickling & jellies. I needed a decent pressure canner so I could (safely) do low acid veggies & meats. This item was given to me as a gift. Just used it today and it is very easy to work with. The instruction manual was precise and to the point. So much so, I was glad to have my canning book and some other info on pressure canning from elsewhere as it seemed they assumed you had already used one in the past. But I won't mark it down in rating for that. Could just be me and my interpretation issues. This Granite Ware 0707-1 21-1/2-Quart Steel/Porcelain Water-Bath Canner with Rack is a heavy duty, quality made item. Looks to last me years of service.
Anyhow, if you want to pressure can some quality foods for storage, be that veggies from your garden or the...
2. Mostly love this pressure cooker/canner/steamer
I bought this after seeing it advertised in a garden catalog and looking for a better price online. I have a regular pressure cooker and a canner, but I wanted to be able to can more fruits and veggies, and I was sold by the ad on the box (not shown here, shown on other product pages online for this model) that advertised you could steam 60 tamales in it. I'm still trying to find out how to do that, as the steamer comes with NO recipes and almost no information at all in the manual.
This is the first time I've used a pressure canner/steamer and there was a bit of a learning curve. My regular pressure cooker came with a great manual with precise instructions and cooking times, recipes, etc. and I expected that with this one. This barely has instructions on how to put it together and operate it, plus one chart about cooking times. I've had to research everything online to be sure I don't blow up the kitchen. :)
That said, it is a great product and we've used...

If you are buying a pressure cooker, buy this one
I have been canning for a few years now, and decided to take it to the next level, more foods more canning. The water bath method si not possible for a lot of foods so it was a necessary purchase. I looked at a bunch, as I am sure that you did and finally settled on this one. I could not be happier. The packaging was very well done, and shipped in just a few days. The cooker itself is very sturdy and well made. Cleans easy, loads easy, works great, heavy duty construction.
