This Stockpots give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fermentation Success!
I've fermented in buckets and jars before and, admittedly, this pot goes above and beyond what you really need. But it does an absolutely fabulous job. Way less loss from scum on the top/etc. Makes perfect sauerkraut everytime. I've also made good pickles and hot sauce. While it was a little pricy, I don't regret the money!
2. Mmmm..Sauerkraut!
We finally felt courageous enough to start a batch of Sauerkraut and after just ten days it was delicious and ready to be eaten. Since then we have been having at it and it just seems to get better. The procedure is extremely easy and the kraut never got moldy. We never got the weighing stones with the pot so we just went down to the beach and picked up a heavy large rock to place on top of the cabbage. We're keeping it on there as the fermentation goes.
If you're interested in making your own fermented foods, I can only recommend this fermentation crock!

this is a lovely crock and it's working
This crock was delivered to my door in Alaska in THREE days. THREE! It was packaged well and has no cracks or flaws. The shipping time was just wonderful.
The crock is now full of what is turning into sauerkraut. It's the 5 liter, but wow is it heavy when even filled half way! I'm now waiting for the stones, which were ordered days ago but which have not even shipped yet. :o(
I do wish for the price, that the stones came with the crock. That's why the four stars only. But I'm very happy with the crock and the ferment in it. Every day I taste a little and it's crunchy and very good so far. This is my first batch and I can hardly wait to fill the crock with other veggies. For now, without the stones, there's a bag full of water to keep things down and covered with brine. Never had a different crock to compare it to, but tried to do my cabbage in a jar and that didn't work: it kept bubbling out of the lid. This crock works much better. Recommended.
